Job DescriptionThe Australian Financial Review is seeking an enterprising, tenacious, and resilient reporter to join the nation's leading financial services team during a time of rapid change in a dynamic sector.
The successful applicant will ideally have a working knowledge or strong interest in the investment banking sector - ranging from full-service banks to boutique advisory firms - and be able to quickly grasp and explain the complexities of their business practices.
The reporter will have experience in news writing, preferably in digital media, and will be expected to break news about investment banks, write analyses and features, and deliver interviews with key players and dealmakers.
To be successful in this role, you will quickly build a solid understanding of the major themes and trends playing out across the sector, the culture within the firms, the key players and rising stars and what motivates investment banking professionals.
Key Responsibilities: Breaking news stories for digital and print about Australian investment banks.Covering the key players, pay, and culture of the firms.Conducting interviews with top bankers and dealmakers.Maintaining respectful and productive relationships with key contacts.Collaborating with other members of the financial services team.Qualifications: News writing experience, ideally in digital media.Working knowledge or interest in the investment banking sector.A strong network of contacts and familiarity with key institutions, personalities and thematics in the sector would be advantageous.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: We're committed to a safe, respectful and inclusive Nine.
