About the roleThis role acts as standing deputy for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic (DVCA) and as such attends all meetings on behalf of the DVCA when appropriate. It will also coordinate the approaches to student-facing issues as exemplified by the duties of academic registrar and create bridges between Student Administration, Student Life and the Library.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and report regulatory data to regulatory bodies such as TEQSA and the Department of Education, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and accreditation standards.Strategic leadership and execution of comprehensive academic outcomes as well as management of key student-facing aspects including management of student-related governance.Collaborate with the Diocese and Catholic Education organisations in line with the community-focus of the portfolio and support of the Objects of UNDA.Collaborate with industry partners to enhance curriculum and provide students with real-world insights.Provide guidance and advice to the DVCA.Provide line management to leaders of key functional areas within the DVCA portfolio.Provide strategic leadership and direction to those within academic departments, faculty, and administrative employees.Comply with all other reasonable training and duties as identified by the line manager (or delegate).Comply with University policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.Qualifications, skills & experiencePostgraduate qualifications (PhD or equivalent) and extensive relevant experience.Proven experience in academic leadership or senior roles within higher education, and proven expertise in the management of significant human and material resources.Demonstrated success in curriculum development, program assessment, student-related governance and educational innovation.Integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information.Knowledge of TEQSA is advantageous.Demonstrated ability to work across multiple strategic projects in a Higher Education context.Strong project management and time management capabilities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative staff.Strong communication and report-writing skills.Strong understanding of academic program and curriculum design, records management principles and academic reporting requirements.BenefitsGenerous training and development opportunities.Friendly and collaborative working environment.Fast-paced environment with opportunity for professional growth.How to applyPlease apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
