About the company Paradigm Engineers is a highly regarded Electrical and Control Systems Engineering consultancy, servicing projects Australia-wide from our office in Perth.
We specialise in providing electrical, instrumentation, control systems, and project management services to the mining, mineral processing, and infrastructure industries.
Our current projects include design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation services for brownfield and greenfield mining, materials handling, mineral processing, and port facilities across multiple commodities, including iron ore, salt, gold, coal, and nickel.
About the opportunity Due to awarded projects, we have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Belmont, Western Australia.
We're seeking an experienced engineering professional who has a strong track record in similar roles, particularly within design and execution teams.
Key responsibilities: Development of electrical designs for 415V and MV MCCs (up to 6.6kV), including drawings (single lines, schematics, terminations/connections, PLC/network, equipment layouts, cable schedules, loops, switchroom GA's), calculations (maximum demand, switchroom heat load, cable size, arc flash), and documentation (scopes of work, procurement specifications, equipment schedules, datasheets, drawing registers, maintenance manuals). Coordination of drafting project works. MCC/Panel/Equipment Inspections. Interfacing with vendors & clients to ensure compliance with project specifications. Assisting with the development of engineering / design effort hour estimates. Involvement with and promotion of Safety in Design. Our ideal candidates would have some or all the following: A degree in Electrical Engineering. Demonstrated experience in an Australian based electrical engineering role (mining experience preferred). Ability to work autonomously and as part of the team. Keen eye for detail and a focus on quality and performance. Strong communication and computer skills. Strong organisational and decision-making capabilities. Strong technical documentation writing skills. Prior experience in construction support and commissioning experience. Desirable Skills/Experience Experience in mineral processing plants. Bulk materials handling experience. Demonstrated experience with mobile machines: stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders. Functional safety qualification .
