Job type: Full time / From 28/01/2025Organisation: Schools (Government)Salary: Salary not specifiedOccupation: Facilities ManagementReference: 1454452Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently when completing and maintaining records, general maintenance, gardening tasks and repairs.SC2 Demonstrated strong and proactive work ethic, an eye for detail and problem-solving abilities to achieve the best possible outcomes for the school.SC3 Demonstrated ability to work and communicate as part of a team and regularly liaise with contractors on the school site and the leadership team, overseeing building and grounds.SC4 Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise with regard to the use of specialised equipment associated with the requirements of the role.SC5 Demonstrated ability to identify and assess potential risks and work within Department of Education OH&S guidelines that may impact on the safety of members of the school community (Students, staff or members of the wider school community).RolePositions at this range involve tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy. Supervision and coordination of other staff involves ensuring that routine tasks are performed to the required standard.Specialised support functions will involve accountability for a single function or the operation of a work area. Technical support will involve ensuring clearly defined technical requirements are met (for example, technical support to teachers within a school laboratory). Direction is readily available and the scope for decision making is limited to how required tasks are met.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:manage and direct the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial statements and contribute to financial decision makingprovide a child safe environment in accordance with the Child Safe Standardscoordinate a range of functions, such as finance, human resources and other support areas that contribute significantly to the business management function within the schoolmanage the delivery of a particular service or function (for example, finance, library, human resources or facilities)manage a school science laboratory where a variety of tests are undertaken, including activities that are not routine and techniques that are not standardadvise teachers and students on aspects of information technology and use in the schoolconduct training and instruction to school colleagues within the technical fieldprovide operational leadership and strategic planning with respect to professional service deliveryprovide complex professional reports requiring in-depth factual analysis, including assessments and recommendations for consideration by otherscoordinate the completion of routine maintenance across school, liaising with contractors as requiredensure school grounds are cleancomplete assigned tasksassist with deliveriesrespond to requests for assistance from school staffperform basic maintenance, e.g., changing light globes, small painting and repairs jobsperform gardening and landscaping as requiredperform duties as instructed by PrincipalWho May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfil the specific requirements of the position.EEO AND OHS CommitmentThe Department of Education is committed to the principles of equal opportunity, and diversity and inclusion for all.
