Apprentice Chef

We are on the search for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentice to join an award-winning venue catering for 80-750 guests for weddings, corporate and special events.
We are seeking a hard-working and motivated budding Chef to complete a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and join this amazing team.
The requirements are: Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible for this Australian Apprenticeship Strong work ethic with the ability to work under pressure maintaining high standards Passion for food and good understanding of food presentation and cooking techniques.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work as a team is vital.
Ensure safe food handling procedures (storage and temperature) complying with food safety standards.
Perform routine kitchen tasks and other kitchen duties as assigned.
Follow the prep list created to plan duties.
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organised and easily accessible.
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
Assists the chef in all the food service operations and day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
Undertake basic cooking duties, prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by keeping stations clean, washing dishes, sanitising surfaces and taking out garbage.
Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
Ensure and observe correct OH&S procedures.
Ensure high level of personal hygiene.
Flexible schedule, working evenings and on weekends.
Days required are Wed – Sunday Hours vary from 38-45 hours per week.
