The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Junior Employment Lawyer.
We are a leading commercial law firm known for providing innovative legal solutions to a diverse range of corporate clients.
The role will be dedicated in advising businesses on all aspects of employment law, from compliance and policy development to handling complex workplace matters.
advising clients on employment law matters, assisting with case preparation, research, and client management.
We are looking to add a talented Junior Employment Lawyer who is eager to contribute and grow with our team.
As our Junior Employment Lawyer, you will:
Take ownership of end-to-end matters on all file outcomes
Assist in providing legal advice on a wide range of employment matters, including contracts, grievances, disciplinaries, dismissals, redundancy, and employment tribunal claims
Conduct legal research and stay updated on the latest employment law developments
Draft and review employment contracts, handbooks, and policy documents and consult Counsel on matters requiring specialist input when applicable
Proactively build pipeline of new client acquisitions and repeat business from existing clients to meet agreed revenue targets and to also take strategic account management approach to maintaining relationships and forward planning with key clients
Be involved in strategic business planning initiatives
Represent the firm at networking and other targeted industry events
Meet professional development/CPD requirements
Comply with Law Institute of Victoria and the Legal Services Board and compliance with the Uniform Law and Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules

Skills & Experience include:
Minimum of two years PAE in commercial law
Strong service oriented and client centred approach to your work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to converse with a diverse range of people as well as set and manage realistic expectations
Proven track record in building a sales/case pipeline and ability to build and maintain effective relationships and referral networks with a collaborative and consultative approach
Solid organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, schedule workflow, meet deadlines and manage clients and other parties to keep all on track
Well-developed analytical skills with strong attention to detail
