Join the Drug Substance Development team in Schaftenau as an Associate Expert Science & Technology (M/F/d) - Upstream Cell Culture Process Development and participate in pioneering the future of our Biologics.

**About the Role**:
**Your Responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Assist in planning and executing of cell culture experiments in lab
- and pilot-scale bioreactors (from 15 mL up to 200L) including primary separation
- Contribute to life cycle management of the pilot plant by implementing new technologies and assisting with investments of lab instruments and infrastructure
- Drive digitalization and lab automation activities e.g. by independently utilizing existing or new software with the help of existing super users
- Support continuous improvement activities of lab procedures and workflows
- Author and review technical documents (e.g. instrument/lab procedures) and provide input to scientific reports by adequate raw data documentation and preliminary data analysis and interpretation
- Take on responsibility for the maintenance and repair of laboratory instruments and laboratory infrastructure
- Ensure the required level of safety, compliance and data integrity in our development labs according to current Novartis quality guidelines (qualification of equipment, trainings, raw data management)

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- ** Education / Experience**: Professional education as a technician (chemistry, biotechnology, process engineering or equivalent) or university degree in life sciences or engineering e.g. BSc with strong hands-on experience (biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, or equivalent).
- ** Languages**: German (fluent) and English (good command)
- ** Technical knowledge**: Hands-on experience with running bioprocesses and - ideally - with cultivation of animal cells at lab and/or pilot scale.
- Thorough understanding of bioprocess engineering principles and upstream unit operations.
- Experience with setting up lab automation procedures would be highly preferable; at least strong interest in this field as well as in the implementation of digital tools is essential.

**Ihr Verantwortungsbereich**:
Wir suchen eine Technikerin oder einen Techniker mit großem Interesse an Bioprozessingenieurwesen und Laborautomatisierung. Diese Position wird unser Upstream-Prozessentwicklungslabor-Team unterstützen, mit besonderem Fokus auf Aktivitäten im Pilotmaßstab.

Ihre Aufgaben sind unter anderem:

- Planung und Durchführung von Zellkulturexperimenten in Labor
- und Pilotmaßstab-Bioreaktoren (15mL bis zu 200L) einschließlich Primärseparation
- Unterstützung Modernisierung der Pilotanlage durch aktive Unterstützung bei Investitionen in Laborgeräte und Infrastruktur
- Förderung von Digitalisierung und Laborautomatisierungsaktivitäten, z.B. durch eigenständige Nutzung bestehender oder neuer Software mit Hilfe von vorhandenen Superusern
- Aktivitäten zur Implementierung neuer Technologien und kontinuierlichen Verbesserung von Arbeitsabläufen im Labor vorantreiben
- Verfassen und Überprüfen technischer Dokumente (z.B. Geräte-/Laborvorschriften) und Bereitstellung von Beiträgen zu wissenschaftlichen Berichten durch ang
