Director of The Research Center for Advanced

**Your responsibilities**:
The Director of the Research Center for Advanced Studies (RCAS) will be the head of different research groups and will lead the research center’s operational and strategic activities. Furthermore, the director of the RCAS is responsible for initiating and maintaining collaborations with entrepreneurs and to actively communicate Modul University’s research activities to the broader public (i.e. through events). In collaboration with Modul University Vienna, the RCAS aims to foster interdisciplinary research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in various fields, including but not limited to technology, sustainability, social sciences, and business. The Director will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the organization and driving impactful initiatives that contribute to academic excellence, knowledge transfer, and societal development. This is a full‐time, two‐years limited position with the possibility for renewal.
**Your responsibilities**
- Develop and implement strategic plans of the RCAS aligned with Modul University’s mission, goals, and values.
- Provide visionary leadership to inspire and motivate staff, researchers, and stakeholders.
- Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with academic institutions, industry partners, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop joint research projects, funding opportunities, and knowledge exchange programs.
- Enhance the visibility and reputation of RCAS and the Start-Up Hub through networking and outreach activities.
- Promote interdisciplinary research collaborations and facilitate knowledge dissemination.
- Support the development of innovative solutions, prototypes, and intellectual property.
- Foster a culture of creativity, curiosity, and excellence among researchers and entrepreneurs.
- Facilitate the creation and growth of start-ups and spin-offs within the university ecosystem.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and resources to aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.
- Foster connections with investors, accelerators, and industry partners to support venture development.

**Your profile**:

- A doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., science, engineering, business, social sciences).
- Proven leadership experience in academic or research organizations preferably at the executive level.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies, innovation processes, and technology transfer.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and education.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Valid work permit in Austria.
