**Your Role**
As a Backend Team Lead, you will manage the backend engineering team in building and delivering high quality products to our users. You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, as well as working closely with senior stakeholders across the company. You will be tasked with ideating and owning the team's roadmap, and ensuring development and technologies align with the goals of the business.
**Responsibilities will include**:

- Managing a team of engineers, including ongoing hiring and providing opportunities for development
- Planning and documenting technical specifications across our suite of products
- Directing the development team in designing, building, and maintaining distributed and containerized cloud and microservice-, and event-based architecture
- Leading by using optimal code that adheres with Clean Code and Clean Architecture
- Simplifying and automating engineering processes
- Monitoring and responding to errors and scalability issues
- Ensuring precision when working with services that impact millions of users around the globe
- Fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and make technical architecture decisions
- Maintain high code quality standards

**Skills you should have**:
Must have:

- Experience managing and developing an engineering team
- Mastery in coding, designing, and maintaining HTTP/web based APIs
- Knowledge of the following Cloud Providers: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Microsoft Azure
- Expertise in one industry-standard backend-tailored software language and its ecosystem with the ability to adapt and introduce new ones to the company's Python-stack
- Deep comprehension of architecting, managing and deploying microservices and event-based enterprise architectures
- Understand the fundamentals of DevOps, SRE, software-testing, and quality assurance
- Very good knowledge of databases and other persistence stores
- Ability to troubleshoot Linux and lead DNS management
- Basic knowledge of Terraform and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD and Github
- Excellent English skills

Nice to have:

- Experience working with search engines (Elastic Search or others)
- Knowledge of Golang/NodeJS/Ruby

- Great communication skills
- Ability to communicate comfortable with other stakeholders outside core engineering

**Salary**
For this position we offer an annual gross salary range between **€ 80.000** and **€ 100.000 **in Austria**, **based on qualification, with willingness to adjust salary depending on further experience and location.
