DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Mechanistic and data-driven modeling of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes (model development and

implementation, model parametrization, model validation)
- Execution of simulation studies based on the developed models
- Support during the design and implementation of model-based controllers, e.g., model predictive control
- Active participation in experiments that are needed for model parametrization and controller test runs
- Writing of scientific publications and project reports
- Optional: Application of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to process model development, investigation of their

suitability for process control

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- MSc degree in electrical engineering, information and computer engineering, applied mathematics or in an

engineering study covering basics of system modeling
- Interest in process modeling as well as in process control
- Interest in working with Matlab/Simulink
- Knowledge in the basics of artificial intelligence is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and as a member of an international research team
- Interest and experience in performing top-level and target-oriented research at the interface of basic science and
