In the framework of the Research Project „Uses of civil justice and social policy in the Habsburg Monarchy, 1873-1914“/„Mobilisierung der Ziviljustiz und Sozialpolitik“, (PI: PD. Dr. Borbala Zsuzsanna Török), we are seeking a postdoctoral researcher in History / Sociology of Law for a part-time position (20 hrs. per week) for 30 Months, beginning as soon as possible. The arrangement of working hours is negotiable.
The project analyses the making and social effect of the Austrian code of civil procedure (ZPO, 1895/98) and its adaptation in Hungary (1911/15). It has a double focus: Module 1 is a qualitative study of the preparation of the Austrian and Hungarian ZPOs, while Module 2 explores the quantitative macro-social, economic and demographic factors conducive to regional varieties in the social use of the instruments created by the civil procedural law during the last decades of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The project is a first-time inquiry into the social and institutional dimensions of the Austrian and Hungarian procedural reforms, in regard to the emerging social citizenship in the Habsburg Monarchy.

- Participation in research data management;
- Organization of data collection, aided by the research assistant, data processing;
- Creation of a databank on the basis of published and partly digitally accessible source material;
- Developing and processing research questions on the basis of the databank;
