**About the position**:
In this position you will be responsible for
- Analysis of existing compute resources (HPC & Workstations)
- Development of a long-term Scientific Computing concept
- Building a new service unit for the support of scientific research groups from the ground up
- Budgeting for and purchasing of all investments and replacements regarding existing compute structures
- Working closely with the Head of IT and Max Perutz Labs scientists as well as with core facility staff

**About your profile**:

- In-depth experience in IT, especially in working with compute clusters and ideally hold a degree in informatics
- Project management skills, e.g. from working in a service unit
- Work experience in a similar position (ideally)
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Profound knowledge in high-performance computing
- Basic knowledge in system administration (ideally)
- A reliable, service-oriented, self-organized personality
- The ability to work in a team and heterogenous environments
- Basic knowledge of German language and very good knowledge of English language

We offer a fulltime position (40 hours/week) with a salary of EUR 3.500,00 gross. Of course, we will offer a market-based overpayment depending on your qualifications.
