We are recruiting two Technical Assistants/Biomedical Research Associates (BMA) (M/F/d) for the Precision Oncology Pillar at the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute (CCRI) together with Labdia Labordiagnostik GmbH (Labdia).

The Precision Oncology Pillar aims at supporting the selection of more effective treatments for children and adolescents with newly diagnosed, treatment refractory or relapsing solid cancers and leukemia (Kornauth C. _et al._, _Cancer Discov_, 2021, Bellini A. _et al_., _JCO_, 2021, Peneder P. _et al._, _Nat Commun._, 2021). As technical assistant you will support the program coordinator in the implementation and continuous improvement of Precision Oncology techniques and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and clinicians.

Your main area of work will comprise _in vitro/in vivo_ analysis of targeted drugs in functional drug screens or molecular genetic characterization of tumors via Next Generation Sequencing (WES, RNA-seq, Methylation Seq).

**Responsibilities**:

- TA/BMA position 1:

- Execution, optimization and further development of a state-of-the-art imaging-based drug screening platform (pharmacoscopy), cultivation of tumor-organoids and patient-derived xenografts
- TA/BMA position 2:

- Optimize protocols for sample processing of tumor tissue, peripheral blood and bone marrow, extraction of circulating tumor DNA, genomic DNA and RNA.
- Comparison and validation of library preparation and Next Generation Sequencing methods
- Documentation, analysis and reporting of data
- Generation/Writing of SOPs/standardized working protocols
- Assist in general labmanagement/administrative activities
- Active participation in quality control/quality management
- Active participation in lab meetings and scientific discussions

**Profile**:

- Completed Bachelor’s or Master's degree in life sciences
- Training and registration as BMA (biomedizinische Analytiker/In/, Biomedical Scientist) are a plus
- Background in cancer genomics, drug-screening platforms or pharmacology is of advantage
- Experience in quality management and good laboratory practice
- Basic understanding of programming and data analysis (R, Phyton) is of advantage
- Highly motivated team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel and deliver high quality results under tight time lines
- Independent, efficient, proactive, responsible, well organized hands-on mentality
- Discrete management of sensitive data
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German
