As they continue to expand their footprint in the DACH region, they are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with native or near-native German and excellent English skills to drive our technical vision, strategy, and client engagement in the region.
**Role Overview**:
As the CTO for the DACH region, you will be a key strategic leader, working closely with our clients, engineering teams, and business units to define and execute technology strategies. Your role will involve advising startups, mid-sized companies as well as enterprise businesses on technology decisions, leading discovery processes, and ensuring that the company stays at the forefront of innovation.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Technology Leadership & Strategy:
Define and drive the technology strategy for their clients in the DACH region, helping them build scalable, future-proof solutions.
- AI Strategy & Enablement:
Lead AI workshops, support the productization of AI solutions, and drive their AI service offerings for the DACH region, ensuring alignment with client needs and market trends.
- Client Engagement & Advisory:
Partner with VC-backed startups and established enterprises to provide technical expertise and strategic guidance, ensuring their success.
- Discovery & Solution Design:
Lead technical discovery sessions, helping clients shape their software architecture, tech stack, and product roadmap.
- Engineering Excellence:
Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to ensure high-quality, scalable software solutions aligned with industry best practices.
- Thought Leadership:
Represent the company at industry events, tech conferences, and networking forums, strengthening their brand presence in the region.
- New Business & Pitching:
Work closely with their sales and demand generation teams to support technical pre-sales efforts, providing insights on best-fit technologies and solution architectures.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
Act as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment between technical and commercial objectives.
- Process Optimization:
Establish best practices for technology roadmaps, DevOps, and agile methodologies to optimize software development efficiency.

**Requirements**:
**Who They Are Looking For**:

- C2 level of German and C1 English (a must).
- Proven experience in a CTO, Tech Lead, or Senior Engineering role, preferably within a digital consultancy, software development company, or startup ecosystem.
- Previous strong technical background with expertise in one or more of the following: Java, NET/C#, Kotlin, Go, Node.js, Python/Django, JavaScript.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps best practices.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, microservices, and scalable architecture.
- Ability to drive technology strategy and provide executive-level technical guidance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and growing technical teams.
- Experience in the DACH market and understanding of its business culture and technology trends.
- Willingness to travel within the region and internationally as needed.
- Background in HealthTech/FinTech or regulated industries
- Experience in complex, compliance-driven sectors.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field of study; a Master’s degree is a plus.
