As an active member of the Electrical, Instrumentation & Civil Team within Asset Technology, the purpose of the Group Expert Instrumentation is to contribute with highest technical expertise in projects and existing assets.

You will participate as project management team member in studies & investment projects and provide support to all existing Borealis & Joint Ventures assets; Ensure compliance of projects with established Borealis and Project procedures and engineering design standards; Support in the Review and Update of Borealis Engineering Documents in the Area of Instrumentation
Contribute to our Asset Technology Roadmap and strategic planning in own area of expertise with focus on improvements, sustainability and developments.

Act as technical Expert across locations, in projects and in operations while you:

- Contribute to improve HSE performance and act as role model
- Act as technical expert in your area
- Provide Instrumentation Engineering expertise support to Borealis, Joint Venture and Owner projects and all existing assets in Borealis
- Work together with international engineering & construction companies, support and challenge them in your area of expertise
- Review and approve Technical Bid Evaluations and support the selection of Instrumentation & Valve Vendors
- Lead and participate in resolutions of major technical problems
- Ensure usage of latest proven technology, improve Plant Safety, control and steer design reviews
- Participate in cross-functional teams and companywide Technical Network
- Lead or support training programs for Instrumentation engineers (senior and lead)
- Promote innovative thinking and strive “fit for purpose” solutions, which deliver business value

The role holder will report to Team Leader - Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil / Discipline Engineering & Technical Support

**About you**:

- Master’s Degree in Instrumentation and Controls or other relevant field, or equivalent by experience
- 10-15 years of experience in Petrochemical/Refinery or other relevant business environment
- Min. 10 years of experience in capital project execution
- Experience in Area of Maintenance is an advantage
- Strong Knowledge in Instrumentation Engineering (Field Instruments, Valves, Automation Systems, SIS,) and Equipment offered on the market
- Good understanding of plant engineering (Green Field and Brown Field), construction and commissioning processes
- Strong Knowledge of Engineering Tools (SmartPlant Instrumentation)
- Good knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical Standards (IEC, EN)
- Good Knowledge of Safety Instrumented System lifecycle activities and deliverables
- Knowledge of other international Standards (ISA, ANSI, API,..) is an advantage
- Project Management Skills and experience in all project phases is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and a Team Player to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Excellent IT Skills
- Fluent in verbal and written English

Willingness to travel on a global basis is a requirement for this position.
