Your Responsibilities

ISTA is a steadily growing institution that is on an ambitious path to double its employees by 2036. To better support the increasing number of faculty members and postdocs ISTA will be creating a new position within the division Academic Affairs.

Responsible for the administration and ongoing operations to support the full postdoc and faculty lifecycle incl. scientific visitors
Lead and develop a team of currently 8 specialists
Providing guidance, advice and administrative services to academic staff members incl. the development of comprehensive information tools such as a faculty handbook
Oversight of the area of research integrity and ethics as well as institutional reporting
Expand and facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty and postdocs such as leadership trainings and mentoring programs
Run academic projects such as programs for fellowships or Visiting Professors or other internal competitive grants
Develop and continuously improve institute guidelines and related procedures in the area of Academic Affairs

Your Profile

Higher university degree, ideally PhD, in natural sciences is of advantage
Several years of experience in science management in an international environment
Leadership experience
Conceptual and strategic thinking
Experience in process optimization and streamlining of procedures
High level of social competency, strong communication skills and excellent command of English
