Technical Officer

**The**Opportunity**:

We are currently looking for **Technical Officer (M/F/x) International Projects** to join Avantor in Vienna, **Austria**or in** Slovakia** for providing optimal support to international customers, such as various UN and NGO organizations, as well as other major customers.

The role is responsible for achieving the specified sales targets in the individual product, market or customer segments, for the operational support, planning and management of the projects he/she manages, and for securing and expanding the laboratory business for the customers assigned. Our portfolio includes full laboratory supply with laboratory and production chemicals, consumables, medical products, equipment, services and laboratory furniture.

**What we’re looking for**:

- University degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology or equivalent
- Working experience in laboratory environment, laboratory supplies industry, chemical research, chemical technology, or pharmaceutical production, or in any kind of relevant scientific field
- Experience in Sales / Account Management is a plus
- Sourcing and/or market intelligence of manufacturers of lab supplies, lab equipment, instruments, chemicals/reagents, or Life Science is a plus
- Strong project management capabilities - ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Language requirements: English - business fluent. German would be a very strong advantage. Further languages are an additional asset.

**How you will thrive and create an impact**:

- Managing tenders for our clients in following areas: sourcing lab supplies, lab equipment and instrumentation, chemicals, and life science products distribution.
- Negotiate supply contracts with selected suppliers to obtain best commercial and business conditions. This includes the preparation of bid packages and tenders, analyzing results, shortlisting suppliers, conducting post tender negotiations, and finalizing contracts.
- Act as a single point of contact for the large international clients and suppliers
- Analyzing technical requirements and offer information, providing advice to the clients
- Preparing quotations / offers
- Other tasks as assigned
