The internships are awarded to persons studying towards a university degree or who have recently received a degree (see Internship web pages for further details). The purpose of the programme is: - To provide interns with the opportunity to gain practical work experience in line with their studies or interests, and expose them to the work of the IAEA and the United Nations as a whole; - To benefit the IAEA's programmes through the assistance of qualified students specialized in various professional fields. - The duration of an internship is normally not less than three months and not more than one year. **Organizational Setting** The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements the IAEA's Major Programme 2, "Nuclear Techniques for Development and Environmental Protection". This Major Programme comprises individual programmes on food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment and radiation technologies. These programmes are supported by laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco and Vienna. The Major Programme's objective is to enhance the capacity of Member States to meet basic human needs and to assess and manage the marine and terrestrial environments through the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques in sustainable development programmes. The Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Section's primary objective is to enhance Member States' capabilities to use nuclear medicine and other imaging technologies efficiently, mainly, but not limited to cancer and cardiac diseases, and for undertaking related basic and clinical research. To achieve those goals, special attention is given to the preparation of educational resources, guidelines and guidance documents. **Main Purpose** The intern will assist staff of the Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Section (NMDI) with the implementation of the following activities: - Maintain the NMDI's EndNote records. - Collaborate on the development and maintenance of NMDI's databases. - Contribute to format NMDI peer review and internal publications. - Contribute with the logistics of the implementation of the ZODIAC Pillar 4 project. - Contribute to a varied range of section activities including meeting and document preparation and working with educational resources and databases, including research projects, IMAGINE and NUMDAB. **Functions / Key Results Expected** - Contribute to the preparation and formatting of NMDI peer-review and internal publications. - Keep track of the implementation process of the ZODIAC Pillar 4 project. - Maintain NMDI's EndNote records. - Prepare interactive PDFs and other tools for handling of data sets and statistical calculations. - Contribute to handle the NMDI databases including those from research projects. - Prepare graphs for evaluation and contribute to elaborating reports resulting from research projects. - Monitor the functionality of the NMDI content on the Human Health Campus, with focus on the ZODIAC-observatory website. - Prepare interactive presentations as requested by the Section Head of NMDI and senior P staff. And - Propose creative and innovative ideas on the use of ICTs to increase the outreach and visibility of NMDI activities. **Qualifications and Experience** - University degree in Health economics, political science or related fields. - Knowledge on the use of Copilot and other generative artificial intelligence tools for natural language understanding and content creation. - Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and presentation. - Experience with statistical calculations, coding, software, scientific literature searching, and current research methods. - Knowledge of project management and administration. **Applicant Eligibility** - Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.
