- Ensuring internal policies (e. g. Finance, Legal and HR) for relevant activities
- Developing skills in disasters and in advocacy work to support the teams
- Required to be able to travel to disaster locations at a moment’s notice and may require extensive work travel
- Must be able to follow all organizational guidelines and procedures remotely
- International Association of Emergency Management credentials
- Sphere Humanitarian Credentials
- Must have extensive experience working remotely from disaster locations
- Should have proficiency in at three United Nations languages (English plus two)
- Must have strong communications and diplomacy skills
- Great affinity to animal welfare and FOUR PAWS vision and mission
Your contribution will be:
- Acting as a programme and project manager for Disaster Preparedness and Resilience projects with FOUR PAWS International partners around the world
- Contributing to the organisational strategy for the Disaster Preparedness and Resilience programme and regional projects; with the Director Global Affairs and Disaster Resilience, developing project plans, setting objectives and predicting resources needed for Disaster Preparedness and Resilience projects with FOUR PAWS International partners
- Writing articles and papers about the topic of animals in disasters, disaster risk reduction and preparedness, and the importance of animals in disasters in relation to agenda 2030 and Sendai Framework
- Being responsible for the programme budget, finance management and tracking
- Developing strategic communications for the Disaster Preparedness and Resilience programme
- Establishing standards and procedures to ensure the compliance program effectiveness and efficiency, as needed
- Preparing, compiling, and ensuring timely delivery of project and assessment reports; aligning legal compliance for projects
- Developing impact indicators based on the ToC and impact map with the Director
- Developing a strategy for identifying and engaging local NGOs with the Director, Board and coordinators
- Initiating, fostering, and maintaining networks through engaging relevant stakeholders in the fields of animal health and welfare, animal rescue, disaster management, and other relevant fields. This might include local and regional civil society, INGOs, IGOs, NGOs, institutions, universities and government agencies
- Acting as point of contact for FOUR PAWS International regarding disaster preparedness and resilience projects, including participating at national, regional, and international forums (as needed)
- Identifying regional coordinators and providing day to day guidance on project implementation with the Director
- Identifying campaigners for internal and external messaging for the organisation with the Director that may be in other departments
- Building up, maintaining and coordinating partners and stakeholder in the Disaster Preparedness and Resilience program in order to keep attention high and/or to strengthen dedication

- The yearly gross salary range for this position is EUR 53,000 - EUR 58,000 (full-time base, consisting of 14 payments) according to our internal compensation scheme.
