At KAI, we create reliability test methods and systems. For an **existing power distribution test system **, we plan to extend the functionality in the direction of **mimicking fail-operational **and **highly available power distribution topologies **and build up a **system-level model within Matlabs Simscape **.
Therefore, during your thesis project, we expect you to become a growing expert in high-level system modeling, with a strong focus on Automotive Power Distribution Topologies. This means you will need to acquire some special knowledge and perform dedicated tasks:
- Learn about **Infineon’s Smart Power Switches **and how to use them in **power distribution topologies**:
- Improve your skills in **high-level system modeling **with **state-of-the-art tools**:
- **Evaluate **different **topologies **and develop an evaluation scheme to scientifically compare them
- Design, build, and evaluate a **working prototype**:
- Document your results by writing and submitting your Master thesis
**This thesis has to be written in cooperation with an university.

Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
Duration: min. 8 months
You are a committed master's student covering the area of **Electrical Engineering,(Power-) Electronics, **and **System Engineering **with a strong ambition for modern automotive power distribution topologies. With your hands-on mentality, you like to bring ideas to life. You have:
- Knowledge and experience with **lab measurements **, **circuit design, electro-thermal simulations **(SPICE, Simscape, PLECS, ) and doing **PCB layouts**:
- The ability to work and communicate well with our **international team **in **English **and German is a plus
- Completed most of your exams and can start right away
- Motivation letter

- Certificate of matriculation at a university
- Latest Transcript of records (not older than 6 months)
- Highest completed educational certificate (Matura certificate for Bachelor students, Bachelor certificate for Master students)
