About the role
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day finance and accounts operations, and the accurate timely monthly, quarterly, and year end closing.
The Financial Accountant collaborates with the other finance departments to support standard finance activities and projects.
**Responsibilities**:
- General ledger bookings, preparation, and maintaining of supporting documentation in IFRS- Calculating and booking monthly accruals and month-end reclass and reval journals- Performing monthly reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts (Balance sheet and profit/loss account)- Month-end closing and preparation of reporting package for specific companies- Supporting activities related to statutory year-end closing- Assistance in the development of ad-hoc analysis, reports, presentations, and special projects for senior management and cross-functional team- Issue resolution and accounting query handling- Internal communication with business units to support decisions- SOX control preparation and review- Support to automation and standardization projects
Skills and Competencies- Good understanding of IFRS accounting transactions- Good analytical knowledge, communication skills and ability to resolve issues independently- Understanding of General Ledger SOX controls- Accuracy and attention to detail a must- Strong analytical skills- Willingness to learn- Flexibility, resilience, capability to work in a team- Very good communication skills
Qualifications and education requirements- Finance or Economics degree is a must, ACCA is an advantage- 1-3 yrs experience in Finance, preferably in Shared Services environment- Experience in a multinational company accounting team- Fluent English- Excel and accounting systems user experience
