**Your role**:

- Newly establish and actively drive international media relations, encompassing tier-one media including newswires, business titles, O&G, Chemicals, Circular Economy and Sustainability.
- Develop a focused and impactful media relations strategy in the context of Strategy 2030, alongside crisis communication and mitigation of issues.
- Focus on capturing insights and creating initial footprint in the Chemicals-related media and international journalists on the Chemicals beat.
- Identify and actively establish corporate/executive visibility in new media titles/formats with creative/tailored formats derived from OMV Group content architecture.
- Actively maintain and foster robust and professional relationships with national media (print, TV and online), by leveraging news announcements and proactive media pitches based on a clear agenda-setting approach and strategic scenario planning
- Develop proactive media relations strategy aimed at positioning OMV as a leader in sustainable fuels, sustainable mobility and sustainable lifestyle, in very close partnership with Strategic messaging & Thought Leadership, Executive Communications teams and Corporate Brand.
- Maintain a constant news flow based on strategic planning of executive interviews (CEO and selected EB members) and state-of-the-art execution
- Strengthen the talent pipeline in in-house media relations and actively drive talent development and rotations for spokespeople across business segments
- Manage and streamline OMV's press office (online/offline) and media monitoring/analysis with a strong international focus
- Develop and maintain robust crisis communications strategy and planning (Vienna HQ, countries, sites), incl. regular spokespeople trainings

**Your profile**:

- You have a Master Degree in Communications, Business or other relevant discipline
- You have minimum 15 years of relevant experience
- Proven international experience in strategic communications and media relations,
- Working experience or in-depth knowledge in the Chemicals or Materials sector would be a plus
- Established relationships with tier-1 international media in EU, UAE, North America and Asia, and deep knowledge of local media protocol
- Strong international mind-set and cultural awareness
- Deep knowledge in integrated communication strategies
- Proven track record in Newsroom-style corporate communications workflows
- Awareness of cutting-edge digital media/technologies and trends in communications, cross industry experience in multiple communications disciplines and the ability to work in complex matrix/virtual/agile organizations
- adept at working across hierarchies
- ability to actively develop new talent pipeline
- ability to provide strategic counsel to C-suite executives
- deep understanding of thought leadership approaches in an international context
- excellent editorial skills, based on latest multi-channel communication trends
- bilingual proficiency in English/German (mandatory native-level English proficiency for editorial work)
