Full Stack Django Engineer | Backend-Heavy (AWS, AI + Data)

Location: Vienna, Austria (District 18) | Salary: 70,000 euro - 80,000 euro + Equity

The Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to build a React/Django application integrated with AI agents, knowledge graphs, and custom datasets. You will work in a '0-1' startup environment, building both core product features and internal tooling. This role requires a developer who actively uses AI tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate their own workflow and is capable of building complex backend logic alongside functional frontend components.

You will be closely working with the founding team (CEO and CTO) and early hires.

Must-Have

  • Python/Django:
    3+ years of professional Python/Django experience (Django 4+, Django REST Framework).
  • Database:
    Strong experience building and maintaining PostgreSQL-backed applications.
  • AI Engineering:
    Proven experience building RAG systems and agentic AI workflows (prompt engineering, context management, latency optimization, hallucination mitigation).
  • AI-Assisted Dev:
    Daily, proficient use of AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development.
  • Frontend Concepts:
    Solid understanding of modern React (hooks, context, state management).
  • Data Handling:
    Experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines and data processing workflows.
  • Remote Work:
    Comfortable working fully remotely and asynchronously with a small distributed team.
  • Business Language
    : English

Strong Advantage

  • Graph Data:
    Hands-on experience with Knowledge Graphs (Neo4j, NetworkX, RDF/OWL, or similar).
  • React Ecosystem:
    Production experience with modern React ecosystems (Vite, TypeScript, TanStack Query, Zod, etc.).
  • AWS:
    Experience with S3, EC2, IAM, Bedrock, Neptune, and CloudWatch.
  • Async Python:
    Experience with Celery (or alternatives), Redis, and Django Channels/WebSockets.
  • Compliance:
    Knowledge of regulated environments (GDPR, PII handling, ISO 27001/27002 basics).
  • AI Frameworks:
    Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or LangFlow.
  • Business Language:
    German and English

Nice-to-Have

  • TypeScript:
    Proficiency in TypeScript.
  • LLMs:
    Experience fine-tuning or running open-source LLMs (Llama 3, DeepSeek, Mistral, etc.).
  • Go:
    Familiarity with Go (or willingness to learn it).
  • Open Source:
    Contributions to open-source AI/agent projects or interesting personal projects involving graphs or AI agents.
