We've been recognized for three consecutive years as the Top DACH Employer byKununu.Our mission is to empower customers to buy products up to 40% cheaper while making a substantial impact on reducing CO2 emissions - Join us to make consumption more sustainableWe are looking for a Mobile/Full-Stack App Engineer to strengthen the App Squad and to lead modernization and performance initiatives for the Refurbed app.WHO YOU ARE:10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years in React Native / ExpoDeep expertise in TypeScript, React Native, and modern mobile architecture patterns (navigation, modularization, OTA updates)Proven experience leading app architecture evolution and mentoring multiple teams or squadsProficiency in native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) bridging and advanced SDK integrationTrack record of driving mobile performance initiatives (e.g., cold start optimization, crash-free stability >99.7%)Strong understanding of mobile CI/CD, release management, observability, and scaling across marketsExcellent communication skills, able to influence technical direction across teams and stakeholdersStrong judgment in leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, CursorAI, etc.) — knowing when they accelerate delivery, when to avoid them, and how to uphold quality while using themWHAT YOU'LL DO:Own and evolve the technical architecture of Refurbed's mobile app built with React Native / ExpoPartner with product and design leads to define long-term app strategy — from navigation to experimentation frameworksDesign and implement cross-cutting systems for performance, scalability, and modularizationGuide the integration of AI-powered experiences (chat-based shopping, voice, image search) into the mobile appLead SDK and native integration strategies (Bloomreach, payments, analytics, experimentation)Establish best practices, patterns, and libraries used across multiple squadsMentor and coach engineers across teams to level up app development standardsCollaborate closely with platform and backend engineers to ensure seamless end-to-end performanceRepresent the mobile domain in company-wide architecture reviews and technical roadmap discussionsWHY YOU WILL ENJOY WORKING WITH US:Our Culture and Values:Decisions should be made based on facts and not by hierarchy levels?
