As Legal Counsel Data & Privacy Compliance, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, updating and expanding Red Bull's global Data & Privacy Compliance Framework. This framework covers not only worldwide data protection regulations but also emerging data-related and cybersecurity laws such as the EU Data Act, EU Cyber Resilience Act and further Data & Cybersecurity laws around the world.
In this role, you will focus on developing global processes and driving strategic compliance projects, rather than handling day-to-day legal operations. In doing so, you will help align and implement requirements across different data privacy, cybersecurity and other data laws and strengthen an innovative, global Data & Privacy Strategy for Red Bull.
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
DATA PRIVACY COMPLIANCE PROGRAM
Execute Red Bull's global Data Privacy Compliance Program by translating existing and upcoming data privacy regulations into actionable global processes and governance structures. In this area, you will lead and support cross-functional strategic projects that enhance compliant data handling, such as data retention & deletion projects; projects improving current global data incident handling and data subject requests handling processes. You will help to raise maturity of Red Bull's global data privacy framework.
EXPERTISE IN CYBERSECURITY LAWS
You will be an expert in translating legal cybersecurity requirements across the world into actionable processes and be part of improving and expanding Red Bull's global framework for cybersecurity. This requires also close collaboration with our technical counterparts within the company.
UPCOMING DATA LAWS
You will lead and support projects to analyse new and upcoming data regulations to include them into Red Bull's Global Data & Privacy Compliance Framework. You will assist Red Bull's Business Units to implement upcoming data law legal requirements by providing actionable global processes and governance structures.
LEGAL MONITORING
You will assist with knowledge sharing and the monitoring of Data & Privacy developments across the world.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- Minimum 5+ years of combined, relevant experience in data protection, privacy compliance and/or cybersecurity in international law firms, legal consulting firms and/or in-house legal departments of an international company.
- A degree in Law or Economic Law from a reputable university is required. A postgraduate degree or a degree in IT is considered an advantage.
- Excellent command of English is essential. Proficiency in German as an additional working language is a high plus.
- CIPP/E or other data privacy and IT-related qualifications are highly desirable.
- Experience in implementing Privacy Compliance Programs/Frameworks and leading strategic legal projects in an international company.
- Solid knowledge of European data privacy laws and emerging data regulations (such as Data Act, NIS2, CRA).
- You have sharp analytical and communication skills, a strong aptitude for technology, and a strategic mindset that balances attention to detail with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
- Motivated by long-term projects, you take a holistic view of compliant data handling and bring excellent organizational skills, a pragmatic working style, and a well-structured, solution-driven mindset to your work.
Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is € 2.446,- gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
As an employer, we value diversity and support people in developing their potential and strengths, realizing their ideas and seizing opportunities. We believe passionately that employing a diverse workforce is central to our success. We welcome applications from all members of society irrespective of age, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation or origin.
