Do you have a deep and established interest in complex systems? Are you eager to see your research from a new perspective? Visit us at the center of complexity science in Europe – the Complexity Science Hub.

If you are interested in applying complexity science tools and theories in your research and curious to experience CSH's non-bureaucratic structure and unique intellectual environment, we look forward to hearing from you. As part of European efforts to foster and sustain excellence in research, our visitor program can also facilitate the transition of talented researchers to Europe.

Within our visitor program, we sponsor opportunities for researchers at the postdoctoral stage or later to conduct a research visit to our campus in beautiful Vienna. We invite visitors to integrate fully into our transdisciplinary community during their stay and to consider how longer-term affiliation and cooperation might help advance their complexity science research program.

WE OFFER

CSH's dynamic research environment includes regular talks, workshops, and visitors that collectively enhance our highly collaborative structure. Our campus in Palais Springer-Rothschild lies close to Vienna's city center and within the embassy district. We can advise on visa requirements, healthcare, local schools, and related infrastructure and services to facilitate longer-term visits and/or accompanying family members.

APPLICATION

Interested researchers should submit a proposal outlining their interest and intentions for a stay at CSH – lasting from a few weeks to several months, to be negotiated after acceptance.

Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis through our online portal, accessed below. Please ensure your application is complete.

About us

The Complexity Science Hub (CSH) is Europe's research center for the study of complex systems. We derive meaning from data from a range of disciplines – economics, medicine, ecology, and the social sciences – as a basis for actionable solutions for a better world. Established in 2015, we have grown to over 75 researchers, driven by the increasing demand to gain a genuine understanding of the networks that underlie society, from healthcare to supply chains. Through our complexity science approaches linking physics, mathematics, and computational modeling with data and network science, we develop the capacity to address today's and tomorrow's challenges.
