Cryptonow Austria will operate as a financial institute—currently in active licensing proceedings overseen by the FMA (Financial Market Authority)—, ensuring compliance with the highest EU regulatory standards. As we embark on an exciting expansion across Europe, we are looking for a hands-on and experienced COO to lead our ambitious growth journey.

Role Overview:

As the COO, you will be responsible for the overall operational management of Cryptonow Austria. You will ensure the seamless execution of our services, focusing on customer excitement functions, compliance, mid-office functions, and running our crypto platform services. A key part of your role will be to build decentralized EU customer operations teams for over 10 countries, accommodating multiple languages to enhance customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will oversee the recruitment, training, and development of customer operations employees and build the EU team from the ground up to ensure exceptional customer happiness across all markets. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining operational efficiency and driving customer satisfaction as we expand across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build the EU retail customer operations team from the ground up, establishing robust processes and systems.
• Develop and implement strategies to ensure outstanding customer experiences.
• Build and manage decentralized EU customer support teams for 10+ countries, ensuring multilingual capabilities.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of customer support employees to maintain high service standards.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the efficient delivery of services and operational excellence.
• Ensure mid-office compliance with all regulatory requirements, working closely with the Head of Compliance and other relevant teams.
• Manage mid-office functions, transaction processing, and financial reporting.
• Lead and optimize the customer operations of our Cryptonow Crypto Brokerage Platform and Crypto Voucher Cards.
• Collaborate with other executive team members to develop and execute company-wide strategies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and media engagements when required.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a COO or operations role, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment.
• Demonstrated success in managing customer support functions and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Experience in hiring, building, and managing decentralized customer support teams, preferably across multiple countries and languages.
• Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements within the financial services sector.
• Experience in recruiting, training, and developing customer support employees.
• Experience in building operations teams from the ground up.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Fluency in German and English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
