Hand Therapist – Relocate to Regional Victoria Employment Type: Fixed Term Full Time until December 2026 Classification: Physiotherapist Grade 3 (VB7-VC1) or Occupational Therapist Grade 3 (VG3-VG6) Location: Graham Street, Regional Victoria Contact: *************@gvhealth.org.au (confidential conversations) Early Career Fellowship in Hand Therapy GV Health has partnered with the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) to offer the Early Career Fellowship in Hand Therapy – a structured 52‑week training pathway. The Fellowship is targeted toward suitable Grade 2 physiotherapists or occupational therapists who wish to upskill in hand therapy while concurrently applying for the advertised Hand Therapist position. Eligibility Grade 2 or 3 Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience Demonstrated interest and knowledge in hand therapy Current AHPRA registration in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Commitment to the expected clinical workload and mentoring requirements Position Start The Hand Therapist position will commence in early 2026. About the Role As a full‑time Hand Therapist (fixed term until December 2026), you will lead the development, provision and evaluation of evidence‑based hand therapy services at GV Health. Your responsibilities include triage, assessment and treatment of referred patients, leadership in service development, and supervision of junior staff. You will collaborate with senior medical staff, allied health teams and provide patient‑centred care across outpatient and inpatient settings. Key Responsibilities Triage, assessment and treatment of hand therapy patients referred to the clinic Develop and evaluate evidence‑based hand therapy protocols and guidelines Supervise junior occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff providing hand therapy interventions Work collaboratively with senior medical staff including orthopaedics and other allied health professionals Actively participate in staff development sessions, in‑services and case reviews Required Qualifications and Experience Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a physiotherapist or occupational therapist Relevant tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Minimum 5 years clinical experience in relevant healthcare settings Relevant post‑graduate study in Hand Therapy Practice (or working towards) Membership of relevant associations such as Australian Hand Therapy Association, Occupational Therapy Australia or Australian Physiotherapy Association Proficiency in a language other than English (preferred) Experience in clinical research activities and participation in clinical studies (preferred) Robust understanding of the clinical supervision process and experience providing mentoring and supervision to clinicians and students Demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical outcomes and monitor service delivery using relevant KPIs Benefits and Development Professional supervision and mentorship from senior clinicians Paid leave and financial support to attend professional development courses Participation in staff development sessions, in‑services and case reviews Lifetime membership of the Australian Hand Therapy Association Strong clinical supervision program and guidance of senior clinicians Relocation Support Intrastate (
