The Role You Could Play Are you passionate about creating safe, healthy, and people-first workplaces? As MECCA’s Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor (Retail), you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening our safety culture across our Retail Network in Australia and New Zealand. You’ll work in partnership with Retail leaders and the People & Education team to embed proactive, practical, and inclusive HSW practices that empower our teams and foster wellbeing every day. Key Responsibilities Champion a proactive, people-first safety culture across MECCA’s retail operations. Lead injury management and workers’ compensation for NSW and VIC, ensuring safe and sustainable outcomes. Partner with leaders to deliver risk management initiatives, training, and system improvements. Provide expert HSW advice, coaching, and guidance to retail teams and leaders. Support the continuous improvement of MECCA’s Safety Management System and wellbeing initiatives. What You Will Bring You are a trusted safety professional who thrives in a dynamic retail environment, with strong communication skills and a people-first approach. You’ll ideally have 5+ years’ experience in a HSW or OHS advisory partnering role within a fast-paced organisation. 3–4 years’ experience in injury management, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work coordination. Strong knowledge of Australian Work Health and Safety legislation, standards, and compliance. Proven ability to influence, coach, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or related field (desirable).
