Wood is recruiting a Senior Electrical Designer to join our Projects business based in Brisbane, in our CBD office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Designer to join a high‑performing team and contribute to the success of a key client. In this role, you will support an established team focused on delivery for a Gold project. Designing the future. Transforming the World. Responsibilities Responsible for production and/or review of engineering deliverables including models, drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, evaluations etc. Deliver best practice E&I design and documentation in alignment with the Company organizational and Client requirements. Participate in design reviews. Ensure that design activities are performed within allocated project budgets and time constraints to ensure tasks are delivered on time and in a cost‑effective manner. Maintain and apply a working knowledge of design standards and codes. Ensure that all design deliverables have been prepared, checked and approved in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance system and drafting procedures. Work in conjunction with other Discipline Designers, Engineers and supervisors to support engineering project delivery. Readily take ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements on the project. You will also work in close partnership with other disciplines and the client to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and asset portfolio. Ideally you will have proven experience working in a similar role, supported by 10+ years of relevant design experience within the Mining and/or processing industries. Prior experience in Electrical design within mineral processing facilities. Strong knowledge in applying relevant Electrical/Instrumentation industry design practices and key national and international standards and codes. Good written, verbal and presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate discipline requirements to other members of the project team. Ability to deliver best practice design and drafting, with emphasis on cost‑effective design. Competency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD. Knowledge of and exposure to key Clients in Mining & Minerals.
