Casual Disability Support Workers (Centre Based Support Service) Monkami is currently seeking skilled and qualified professionals to join its team of Disability Support Workers in its Centre Based Support Services setting. You will be providing support to participants in our Croydon based Centre Based Support Service. We support people 24 hours a day, every day – including mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends and nights. Monkami offers both Specialist Disability Accommodation and Centre Based Supports. Our Programs are progressive and focused on the achievement of individual goals and aspirations. Available casual shifts: Monkami's Day Service operates 8:15am - 3:51pm (7.6 hours). Casual shifts can range from the entire day (7.6 hours), up to 1:1 support shifts which might only be 4 hours per day. We will work around your availability and shifts are usually confirmed 2 weeks in advance. Short notice shifts are regularly available to cover for staff absences. Remuneration: SCHADS Award Level 2 ($34.58-$37.73 hourly rate) plus 25% Casual Loading Access to Salary Packaging to increase your take home pay Covered by the Victorian Disability Sector Multi Employer Agreement 2023 Please note that interviews will be scheduled throughout the month of January 2026. In this role you will: Support people with disabilities to live as independently as possible and to achieve their personal goals; Encourage and support people to participate in decision-making about the services they receive; Implement plans that provide meaningful activities of the participants choice, interest and ability. Required skills and experiences: A commitment to human rights principles; Understanding of NDIS Act 2013 and related legislation and quality frameworks; Experience with person centered planning, behaviour support and medication administration; Ability to engage clients in a collaborative, positive and respectful manner; Experience in supporting people to meet their personal goals, with an emphasis on supporting people with an intellectual disability; Experience in working with behaviours of concern and developing strategies to gain the best outcomes for all; Experience in providing personal care support; Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with staff, families and other professionals; Ability to build and manage relationships, and to work within a team environment; Creative and critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills; Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines; and Proficiency with computer applications To be considered for this role you must have: Minimum qualification of Certificate IV Disability; Minimum 2 years work experience in providing support services to people with a disability within a residential setting; Current CPR HLTAID009 certification; Full Victorian Driver License; Full Working rights in Australia with no restrictions International Police Check (where required) and current within 3 months of report issue date NDIS Worker Screening Clearance; NDIS Worker Orientation module. Compliance Monkami operates a stringent safety screening process for preferred candidates that will require two satisfactory professional references, an identity check, satisfactory national and international (*where required) criminal history check, an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and completion of NDIS Worker Orientation certificate.
