As we continue to grow, we’re seeking an experienced Payroll / HR Officer to join our operations team and play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll management and effective human resource support across our workforce. The Role Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll and supporting day-to-day HR and administrative functions for our multi-stream workforce — including full-time, casual, PALM scheme and labour-hire employees. You’ll work closely with our management, payroll, and operations teams to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with the Meat Industry Award 2020, Fair Work, WHS and PALM Scheme obligations. Key Responsibilities Process end-to-end weekly payroll. Manage and assist with onboarding, timesheets, rosters and leave approvals. Maintain accurate employee records and contracts. Interpret the Meat Industry Award 2020, including loadings, overtime, allowances, and penalty rates. Assist with HR functions including inductions, training records, and performance documentation. Provide administrative support for workers, including accommodation, welfare and compliance requirements. Support audits, regulatory inspections, and reporting for Fair Work, Food Authority, and WHS. Collaborate with the operations team to identify workforce trends and efficiencies. About You You are organised, detail-focused and confident working with people at all levels in a fast-paced operational environment. You’ll have: Proven experience in payroll is a must but beneficial in HR administration. Strong understanding of employment legislation and award interpretation. Experience with Employment Hero, NoahFace or similar timekeeping systems. Excellent communication and record-keeping skills. High attention to accuracy / detail and confidentiality. A proactive, team-oriented attitude. Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or agricultural sectors will be highly regarded. What We Offer A supportive, hands-on management team.
