If you are interested in providing support to elderly people who are experiencing mild memory difficulties, you will find this a very satisfying volunteer role. Our volunteers are an integral part of the caring team at Chantal Cottage and encourage clients to participate in activities such as news discussion groups, music, arts and crafts, reading, exercise and bus outings. Volunteers can bring their skills to help develop and enrich the program. Activities volunteers can provide include: Art and Craft Music Appreciation (Playing an instrument) Dance Physical Activities (Yoga, Gentle Exercises) Painting Reading and Socialization Singing Board Games (Scrabble, Jenga, Mahjong, UNO) Massage Supporting cultural activities (Bastille day, Italian day, Australian day etc.) Category: Seniors & Aged Care Commitment: Regular – less than 6 months Type Of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: Various weekdays. Hours 9am – 4pm or part thereof. Flexibility with times to allow shorter hours, school pickups and holidays.
