Volunteering in aged care can be an extremely rewarding and valuable experience. While many residents might otherwise miss out on contact with people within the local community, volunteers provide this important link offering both companionship and casual, friendly communication. Volunteers get to share in first‑hand personal stories and experiences from our residents' past while adding a new brightness to their present. Who should volunteer? Anyone. You don't need experience or any special skill, simply a willingness to join in activities and an interest in having a chat. What would I be doing? The most fundamental role of a volunteer is to provide companionship, so a priority is placed upon listening and talking to our residents. As well as this, there is a host of other activities you could be involved in such as: Arts Gardening Bus outing with residents Reading Games And so on If you have a special skill or good ideas, mention them to the lifestyle team to see if it might be a good addition How do I register? Simply make an enquiry by clicking the Interested / Apply Now button and we will be in touch with you to explore your suitability and advise on the orientation process. During the interview process, we will advise you on the completion of relevant documentation as well as the orientation process. A Police Check is mandatory.
