Collegiality is vital as there is a small staff consisting of Manager Corporate Services, Library Officer (0.4 FTE), Education Assistant (0.4 FTE), 4 Teachers, Support Teacher Learning position and Principal. The rest of your day is yours for planning, assessment, and creative preparation, without the constant interruptions of a traditional classroom. Families receive comprehensive learning materials, and completed work is uploaded to SeeSaw for review. Explicit teaching and strong differentiation are expected in Literacy and Numeracy. Experience with the Sounds Write professional learning is desirable but not essential. Teachers work very closely with Parents, who act as Home Tutors, providing daily support to their children. Effective Teacher and Parent communication is vital as communication occurs on a daily basis. Students also attend camps on site in Geraldton at various times during the year and once a year teachers visit the families.
