Rangeway Primary School (PS), located in Geraldton in the Midwest region, is recognised as a socio‑economically disadvantaged school with an ICSEA value of 755, placing it in the tenth decile of social disadvantage. With an enrolment of 273 students, seventy‑four percent are Aboriginal. Factors such as intergenerational poverty, domestic violence, mental health issues, drug and alcohol use, poor attendance and high rates of transiency contribute to significant disadvantages that impact learning potential. Despite these challenges, staff at Rangeway PS hold high expectations for academic achievement and often achieve above ‘like school’ standards through a supportive and collaborative environment. Role The successful applicant will be a passionate, motivated, and skilled educator committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every student through whole‑school approaches, explicit teaching, and instructional strategies. They should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. The role requires the implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum and provision of meaningful learning opportunities. Knowledge of programs such as MultiLit and Talk4Writing will be well regarded, and we especially encourage educators with specialised experience and/or training in Aboriginal Education to apply. The ideal candidate will be innovative, possess high‑quality teaching skills and knowledge, be committed to ongoing professional growth, support current whole‑school processes, and be a collegial, effective collaborator.
