Position Overview Position: Speech and Drama Tutor Workload FTE: Part Time Pay: $42.00‑$63.00 per hour depending on experience Hours: 12‑14 hours per week depending upon enrolments Employment Basis: Permanent The Role Commencing in 2026 , St Andrews Lutheran College is seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Drama Tutor to join our vibrant Performing Arts Department. This permanent peripatetic role involves delivering high‑quality individual and group tuition as part of our approved co‑curricular Speech and Drama program. As the College’s Speech and Drama tutor, you will play a key role in nurturing students’ confidence, creativity, and communication skills through engaging and inclusive learning experiences. You’ll work in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment where academic rigour and real‑world relevance are celebrated. Whether guiding students through dramatic performance, voice and movement, or script interpretation, you’ll help them develop essential skills in self‑expression—skills that extend far beyond the classroom and stage. Key Responsibilities Deliver individual and group Speech and Drama lessons across a range of year levels. Support students in public speaking, performance, and theatre production. Contribute to the co‑cultural and arts events and the co‑curricular life of the College. Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts Department to enhance student outcomes. Assist with preparing students for the ASCA Drama exams. Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience teaching Speech and Drama across various year levels, including curriculum‑aligned and co‑curricular programmes. Proven ability to deliver engaging, differentiated, and evidence‑based teaching practices that foster creativity, confidence, and communication. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire students, collaborate with colleagues, and engage positively with families. A genuine passion for the performing arts and a commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the evolving needs of the College. Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the College, with the ability to support its mission and contribute positively to its community life.
