Disability Support Worker (Darling Downs) Location: (Toowoomba-Queensland, Oakey-Queensland, Australia) Job Type: Casual Description COMPANY Right at Home Darling Downs provides a range of care services to assist people living independently at home while advocating person-centred care, leading by example through exceptional communication service. With more than 80 team members, we are looking for new team members to help grow our presence in the community. Job Description We have exciting opportunities for Disability Support Workers to provide in-home support for clients/NDIS participants living with complex mental and other health issues. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic, caring, compassionate, respectful, and capable of completing personal care and domestic duties. The role is initially casual, with potential for permanent part-time employment based on performance. Qualifications Individual Support (Disability) Certificate III or higher Experience working with people with disabilities, especially with mental health needs Skills in medication assistance and/or administration (HLTHPS006) Understanding of incident reporting, documentation, complaints handling, and complex behaviour support Positive attitude Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance, willing to use for work Current CPR & First Aid Certificate Current Open Drivers Licence Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Card Assist Client with Medication Certificate HLTHPS 006 (highly recommended) Experience with Dementia, Positive Behaviour Support, and Epilepsy is advantageous NDIS Worker Orientation Module NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals Tasks & Responsibilities Support male and female NDIS participants with various mental disabilities Assist and mentor participants to increase independence Encourage engagement in community activities Model and promote appropriate social behaviours Preferred Skills Patience, flexibility, and understanding Strong interpersonal and communication skills Supportive and caring nature Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live with dignity Responsibility and accountability Ability to handle physical demands of the job #J-18808-Ljbffr
