Health and Ageing Service Manager

Lead culturally safe, high-quality health and ageing services Join Njernda Aboriginal Corporation at Echuca as the Health and Ageing Services Manager, overseeing the Medical Centre and a wide range of health, ageing, and wellbeing programs. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring culturally safe, effective, and compliant service delivery that meets community needs and supports the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people across the region. Identified Role – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only In this role, you will: Lead daily operations and strategic planning across medical, allied health, and aged care services Manage staff, clinical governance, budgets, and accreditation compliance Promote culturally safe, trauma‑aware, and evidence‑based health service delivery Build strong partnerships with government, health providers, and community organisations Drive continuous improvement, staff development, and quality health outcomes About You: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity is essential for this role Tertiary qualifications in Healthcare, Business Management, or related discipline Extensive leadership experience managing multidisciplinary health and aged care teams Strong understanding of Aboriginal health, trauma‑informed care, and clinical governance Excellent communication, financial management, and stakeholder engagement skills Lead culturally safe, community‑driven health and ageing services that make a lasting difference. Selection Criteria Essential Qualifications – Tertiary qualifications in Healthcare or Business Management or related discipline along with significant experience in practice management and trauma‑informed care delivery to support individuals impacted by complex and intergenerational trauma. Skills – Demonstrated experience in managing a busy, accredited medical centre/practice; knowledge of Aboriginal culture and challenges in delivering trauma‑informed care practices in an Aboriginal community‑controlled general practice; sound knowledge of clinical governance framework and health and aged care services and systems; experience managing a diverse multidisciplinary workforce; understanding of relevant funding, policies, regulations, and reforms including client‑led funding models; strategies to maximise operational performance for long‑term sustainability in a primary health care setting; experience with MBS billing items, practice incentive grants, practice management software, and other IT relevant to medical centre management; excellent written, oral communication and conflict resolution skills; budgeting, financial control, revenue maximization, management reporting, and interpretation of statistical data reports; managing accreditation, regulatory compliance and standards in health and ageing service delivery. Experience – Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role. Satisfactory evidence of – Pre‑employment checks (at least two professional referees), proof of identity and qualifications, National police check, Working with Children’s Check, full Victorian driver’s licence, disclosure of pre‑existing illness/injury and vaccination status in line with Njernda’s policy and procedure, eligibility to work in Australia, professional/regulatory licenses, registration and current good standing, and clearance on aged care banning orders.
