Project Officer - Youth and Young Adults Archdiocese of Brisbane Location: Brisbane CityEmployment: Permanent Part-TimeWork Hours: 30hrs per week from Tuesday to Friday Archdiocesan Ministries is the central agency of the Archdiocese of Brisbane responsible for advancing the Church’s mission — to inspire, empower, and help the community encounter Jesus and live the joy of the Gospel. Our teams collaborate across parishes, schools, and communities to deliver initiatives that support faith formation, leadership, outreach, and engagement especially among youth, families, and community groups. About the Role The Project Officer – Youth and Young Adults plays a key role in implementing specific outcomes for Youth and Young Adults in the Archdiocesan Ministries Strategic Plan 2025‑2027. The project officer will work in collaboration with the wider Youth & Young Adults team who collectively focus on delivering outcomes of the team’s strategic plan and providing young people in the Archdiocese of Brisbane an opportunity to encounter Christ and live the Gospel. Key Responsibilities Support and promote initiatives that foster faith in young adults and connection to faith communities. Develop and coordinate programs and activities that engage youth and young adults in meaningful ways. Explore opportunities for sports ministry that encourage faith‑based participation. Collaborate with parishes, schools, and community partners to strengthen youth engagement. Support youth leaders across the Archdiocese through networking, formation and coaching. Support the Encounter Youth Project and parish‑based youth groups with practical ministry support, presentations, outreach and coaching. About You Experience in a youth leadership role within the Catholic Church (essential) Minimum 3 year’s experience in youth or young adult ministry within the Catholic Church (essential). Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Proven ability to plan, organise, and deliver initiatives with creativity and purpose. A collaborative and inclusive approach, with the ability to inspire and connect with young people. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms. A personal commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in theology, education, communications, or a related field (desirable). Current Blue Card and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain). Applications should be submitted via SEEK.
