Building Designer - Commercial and Industrial We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Building Designer to join our expanding commercial division. You will work in a team orientated environment, on a variety of commercial and industrial projects. You will be involved in all stages of projects from design concept to construction drawings. You will be a high calibre applicant who is dynamic, enjoys a challenge and has superior project management skills. You will be keen to develop your skills and experience in all aspects of concept design, documentation, contract administration, quality control, project management, and client management. You must be reliable with exceptionally high attention to detail. Key Roles and Responsibilities Develop architectural projects aligned with the firm's needs in all phases: preliminary study, drafting, and execution. Coordinate project development and approval with authorities. Prepare documentation for project approvals with regulatory institutions. Consult with engineers and other technical professionals. Submit plans to local authorities and ensure compliance with Australian standards. Produce detailed drawings for DA, CDC and CC Packages. Document standard specifications for construction finishes. Interpret architectural drawings and specifications. Coordinate consultants and tender works. Develop and implement work strategies for sites. Ensure compliance with building regulations and standards. Arrange building inspections with local authorities. Negotiate to meet project deadlines and budget constraints. Attend meetings with clients and consultants inhouse and off site. Respond to RFI’s and provide additional drawing details during construction. Resolve functional and technical design-related issues with practical solutions efficiently. Assist with ad-hoc tasks as needed by team members and management. Key Skills and Competencies Experience in coordination with industry consultants. Basic knowledge of BCA and Australian Standards. Revit experience of minimum 5 years with concept to detailed documentation. Knowledge of graphic software's beneficial but not essential. Capability to contribute to the management and delivery of projects on time, on budget and specification. Understanding of the building construction process. Adeptness in both autonomous tasks and collaborative efforts. At least 5 years' design and drafting experience.
