Maintenance Manager – Automated Industrial Equipment Our client is a trusted leader in industrial tank solutions, delivering reliable, high‑performing equipment since 1987. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the automated tank cleaning line and plant equipment. This role is ideal for a mechanical fitter or engineer with expertise in automation, mechanical systems, and team leadership. Key responsibilities Manage all maintenance activities for plant equipment, including automated cleaning systems. Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes. Conduct hands‑on fault‑finding, repairs, and servicing on mechanical, pneumatic and automated systems. Respond rapidly to breakdowns to minimise downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance records and asset documentation. Coordinate contractors and service providers as required. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance. Plan and execute shutdowns and major overhauls. Ensure WHS compliance, risk assessments and safe work practices. Identify reliability improvements and equipment upgrades. Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets. Provide technical training and support to operators. Essential criteria Trade‑qualified Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma (or equivalent). Proven experience with automated industrial equipment and production lines. Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of pumps, fluid systems, motors, pneumatics, valves and automation. Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications. Basic PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills. Commitment to safety and preventative maintenance systems. Personal attributes Proactive, solutions‑focused and detail‑oriented. Hands‑on, practical and able to work independently under pressure. Strong team player with collaborative mindset. Compliance & safety Maintain all work in line with WHS standards and company procedures. Conduct and document risk assessments. Promote a safe workplace culture. Work hours & conditions Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am start; 38 hours per week with minimal additional hours. Some after‑hours/weekend work during shutdowns or urgent repairs. Salary Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
