Lab Technician - Microbiology (testing & sampling food/dairy) Randstad Sourceright is proud to be partnering with and working alongside a leading FMCG company. This company has multiple manufacturing sites across Australia and has continued to grow and increase market share. Due to increased workload the team is looking to hire a Lab Technician in the microbiology team. Reporting to the Microbiology Section manager, this role is responsible for testing and sampling food & dairy products. Role: Lab Technician - microbiology in food & dairy Location: Port Melbourne Job Type: Contract - 6 Months (view to extend). Temp to Perm opportunity. Immediate start. Responsibilities Work across a number of areas including microbiological analysis, following established procedures and test methods and safe work practices so as to ensure accurate and timely results are produced at all times for both internal and external customers. Perform general microbiological testing using techniques such as Petri-film, spread plate, pour plate, spore testing, MPNs and membrane filtration. Perform specialised microbiological tests as well as performing pathogen analyses. Ensure timely online data entry for all sampling and testing results into LIMS. Perform, report, and follow up on lab equipment calibration and maintenance. Read, confirm, and report on analyses completed. About You Experience working as a technician in a microbiology laboratory. Experience testing food & dairy products is required. Must have full/permanent working rights to be able to work for 6 months and beyond. Strong attention to detail and great problem‑solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
