Ascham is an independent girls’ school, and since its foundation in 1886 has educated girls who develop into confident, independent and compassionate young women with a sense of purpose in the world. Ascham is an inclusive, day and boarding school that provides a strong academic program within a warm, welcoming environment. We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our Speech and Drama and Communication team as peripatetic staff from Term 1, 2026. With primary responsibility for delivering high quality Speech and Drama lessons to students in small group and individual settings; you will be instrumental in helping them develop confidence / eloquence of speech and improve their performance and communication skills. These positions will be offered on a casual basis, with the opportunity to work 2-3 days per week. What You Will Do Plan and deliver effective individual / group lessons in Speech and Drama and Communication Skills, in accordance with a department-set curriculum Use a variety of learning aids, technology, materials, and equipment to stimulate higher-level thinking Involve all students in their learning process and adjust instruction according to individual needs Ensure students are fully prepared for their graded examinations with all syllabus requirements met Attend Speech and Drama eisteddfods, concerts and soirees including those that are after-hours Complete documentation for student concert, eisteddfod and examination entries; and other administrative tasks as required including accurate attendance and lesson / student records Meet with the Speech and Drama Coordinator or Head of Department regularly to discuss student progress Write annual student feedback reports Use professional judgement to solve problems or escalates issues when there are no clear procedures Take part in all required professional development and any other opportunities that may arise Model and encourage Ascham values and behaviours Ensure compliance with the School’s Code of Conduct and all other internal policies and procedures. What You Will Bring Associate Diploma with Trinity College London, or equivalent Experience with Trinity College London examination syllabus, or equivalent Proven teaching or tutoring experience in a school setting Professional and organised approach Demonstrated computer literacy skills including competence with Microsoft Office Exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment to positive relationships and professional communications A current First Aid and CPR certificate A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC).
