Entry‑Level Steel Processing/Warehouse Assistant About us We’re a leading Perth steel processing supplier based in Bayswater, supporting customers across laser cutting, drilling, profile cutting, bandsaw, beamline and more. Located at 524 Guildford Road, Bayswater WA 6053 , with standard operating hours 7:30am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday . The opportunity This entry‑level role is perfect for a motivated self‑starter who wants to learn, build practical skills, and become a multi‑skilled team member working across different areas of the business. You’ll receive structured on‑the‑job training, rotate through key functions, and contribute to safe, efficient production. Key Responsibilities Production support: Assist across laser cutting, drilling, guillotining, profile, bandsaw, beamline and other operations (after training), including job prep, basic machine setup, loading/unloading, packing and marking parts. Quality & accuracy: Read simple drawings, measure parts, check tolerances, and complete in‑process quality checks to meet customer requirements. Workflow & logistics: Pick/pack orders, stage jobs for dispatch, help coordinate receivals/collections with operations and carriers, and keep the floor organised. Materials handling: Move steel safely using trolleys/overhead lifting equipment (training provided); maintain housekeeping standards within the area. Inventory & admin: Count stock, record heat numbers and complete basic data entry. Teamwork & safety: Follow site safety procedures, PPE requirements, support teammates and communicate clearly during the day. What you’ll bring Genuine motivation to learn and develop new skills in steel processing/manufacturing. Reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude toward teamwork and safety. Basic computer literacy and numeracy; comfort using hand tools and measuring equipment. Nice to have (not mandatory) Forklift licence, exposure to the steel industry, reading simple engineering drawings.
