Habitat Creations – Propagation Team Leader and Seed Bank Assistant Location: Yarragon, West Gippsland & Latrobe Valley, VICContract: Full‑timePosting date: 20/11/2025 Role Summary Rare opportunity to join one of Victoria's largest wholesale native plant nurseries in a newly created role. As the Team Leader – Propagation / Seed Bank Assistant you will coordinate and streamline activities between seed collection, the propagation of native plants and the seed bank. You will work closely with the Manager – Production and Inventory and the Manager – Seed Bank to maximise quality, efficiency and the delivery of native plants for environmental landscaping and revegetation projects throughout SE Australia. Duties Follow weekly/monthly propagation schedules and plans Direct and supervise propagation staff to ensure work is completed efficiently and with appropriate care and skill Provide training and consistent feedback to maintain quality standards Maintain and update propagation records, ensuring propagation data is accurate Ensure propagation and cuttings facilities are kept clean and tidy at all times, including tool and equipment hygiene Manage the cutting house and plant health, including irrigation, fertilisation, weeding, pruning and pest & disease management Report seed issues, unsuccessful batches or any other issue that may require re-propagation, adjustments to schedules or updates to methods or procedures Complete propagation by direct seeding, community tray filling and cuttings as required Complete seed drying, cleaning, processing and storage Assist with seed collection and scoping where required Assist with collation, data entry, record‑keeping and delivery of seed orders Maintain and clean Seed Bank equipment and facilities Perform other nursery and seed bank duties as required Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications Previous experience in a production plant nursery with demonstrable plant propagation experience Enthusiasm for plants and the horticulture industry Capacity to perform physical work in all weather conditions Attention to detail, dexterity and fine motor skills Current and valid driver’s licence and reliable transport Current First Aid and CPR certificate Desirable Knowledge of plant health and disease, including treatment methods Native plant and seed identification knowledge Previous experience in seed collection and processing Horticulture qualification (desirable but not essential) Apply now via Seek. #J-18808-Ljbffr
