Base pay range A$65,000.00/yr - A$75,000.00/yr Here's what nobody tells you about agency life: Most places say they'll train you, then throw you into six accounts, two fire drills, and a client call you're not ready for, all by Tuesday. You'll learn by surviving, not by being taught. You'll copy what the last person did because nobody explained the why. And when you finally come up for air, you'll realise you've spent a year executing other people's strategies without understanding how to build your own. This isn't that. What This Role Is All About You’ll step into a hands‑on paid search role working exclusively across Google Search, Shopping, PMAX, and Demand Gen. Not a bit of everything—proper SEM where you can actually get deep and get good. You’ll manage clients spending $25K to six figures per month, with Enterprise brands you’ve heard of, budgets that matter, and work where the details genuinely count. You’ll build campaigns, optimise product feeds in Merchant Centre, troubleshoot when things break, and report on performance that ties back to actual business outcomes. But here’s what makes this different: 15% of your role is dedicated to training and development. Not "do it in your spare time" or "watch this YouTube video at lunch." Actual structured time to get better at the craft with internal agency training, Google certifications, soft skills development, and working on your areas for improvement with support from people who want to see you grow. You’ll report to an Account Director who doesn’t micromanage but expects solid, error‑free work, and you’ll work in an environment where trust is earned through consistency, not perfection, but where "pretty good" isn’t the standard. You’ll Be A Good Fit If... You’ve got 1+ years of hands‑on agency experience in performance marketing (or a really solid grad program/internship where you got proper exposure) You know your way around Google Ads, GA4, and Merchant Centre — you’ve used them, even if you’re still building confidence You understand ecommerce reporting and can tell the difference between ROAS and revenue (and why both matter) You’re equally comfortable with numbers and narrative — you can spot the trend in the data and explain what it means You’re the kind of person who double‑checks their own work before hitting publish, not because someone told you to, but because you just do You’ve worked in an agency before (or you just thrive on variety and juggling multiple brands at once) You’re comfortable owning your campaigns end‑to‑end — from setup to launch to reporting to optimisation You can admit when something didn’t work and then try something better without needing your ego soothed The Tools You’ll Get To Play With Google Ads (Search, Shopping, PMAX, Demand Gen—the full suite) Google Merchant Centre (you’ll get very familiar with feed management) Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager Data Studio/Looker Studio for reporting Google Ads Scripts (or at least the curiosity to learn them) AI tools and automation where it makes sense (if it helps you work smarter, they’re into it) What Success Looks Like In 6 Months You’re confidently managing campaigns across your accounts with minimal supervision and decreasing errors You’ve contributed ideas that improved results — maybe a better testing framework, a smarter feed structure, or a clearer way to report insights Clients trust you enough to request you on calls because your work is consistently solid You’ve gotten genuinely better at something—automation, feed optimisation, client presentations, whatever you needed to develop—and you’re sharing that learning with the team Your Account Director trusts you with bigger budgets and more complex accounts because you’ve earned it You don’t need to be the perfect candidate. You don’t need to know everything. You don’t need a flawless track record. What you need: Genuine curiosity about how SEM works at scale Strong attention to detail (because six‑figure budgets deserve it) The ability to take feedback and actually improve The honesty to admit when you don’t know something Reliability—doing what you say you’ll do, when you say you’ll do it Think you need to be flawless to land your next role?
