Senior HR advisor

Senior Human Resources Advisor / Team Lead – Bell Bay, Tasmania Rio Tinto is looking for an experienced HR leader to support leaders and employees within Aluminium Operations on site in Bell Bay. This is a permanent, full‑time role based at our Bell Bay aluminium smelter. Overview You will report to the People Experience HR Manager and work closely with senior leadership to provide strategic HR support, drive change initiatives, and manage complex people matters. Responsibilities Lead and participate in multiple cross‑functional initiatives, providing HR subject‑matter expertise and project leadership. Impart knowledge on employee relations, leader capability development, best‑practice HR systems, and organisational change. Provide guidance on complex people matters to the wider team and report findings to senior leadership. Engage effectively at all levels of the business to manage stakeholder relationships and balance competing workloads. Support implementation of the Workday platform and integration of Workday services at the site. Partner with HR Business Partners to identify and prioritise people priorities that support business strategy and operational delivery. Qualifications Strong influencing and relationship‑building skills with a proven ability to impact outcomes. Experience operating within a large organisation, delivering business objectives across a diverse workforce. Strategic and commercial thinking with a creative approach to solutions that consider organisation‑wide impacts. Generalist HR experience, including employer relations and case management. Team leadership and influencing skills are essential. Experience with Workday is desirable; demonstrated ability to implement and sustain HR technology solutions.
