Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs – Melbourne VIC The Chief People Officer Division provides a range of enabling services to DVA’s business areas to support them in providing quality services to its veterans and their families. The Integrity, Security and Property Branch assists this goal through the provision of business integrity, investigation, security and property management support to DVA business functions. The Fraud Control and Analytics Section contributes to the integrity of DVA payments, systems, processes, and staff by managing fraud and corruption risks and helping to govern and support the department's approach to fraud and corruption. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence, shape and build DVA’s future strategic prevention, detection, and response to fraud and corruption. Key Duties Develop Teradata SQL programs to interrogate and combine datasets to analyse fraud risks; Plan, document and develop fraud detection programs in Teradata SQL and produce case selections for intelligence assessments; Undertake testing and validation of data products and curated datasets; Design and implement technical solutions for Intelligence teams; Develop procedures, technical specifications, and supporting documentation; Work with non-technical stakeholders to determine and document requirements, and explain complex technical concepts to broad audiences; Build and sustain effective working relationships with stakeholders and represent the department in external forums; Maintain an awareness of DVA’s fraud risk environment. Eligibility Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS). All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre‑engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance. Mandatory Requirements Experience developing programs in Teradata SQL Experience working in a fraud, risk, non‑compliance, or integrity environment Notes This recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non‑ongoing position(s). For more information about the role, please see the Candidate Information Pack. Where a non‑ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months. A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non‑ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months. Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
