Founded in 1983, Swan Christian College is a co‑educational Christian school in Swan Valley, educating around 1,600 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The College focuses on developing character and academic excellence through its values of respect, integrity, spirituality, and excellence. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Café Manager to join our team in a full‑time, ongoing position commencing on the first January 2026 . You will ensure high standards of service, food quality, and safety while fostering a warm, community‑focused environment that reflects the College’s Christian values and promotes continuous improvement, sustainability, and effective stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of all café and canteen services, ensuring efficient workflows, high‑quality food, and compliance with Food Standards Australia. Plan and review menus to maintain variety, nutritional balance, and financial sustainability through effective COGS analysis and waste reduction. Ensure full compliance with food safety, health, and WHS standards, maintaining accurate records, audits, and staff training documentation. Lead, supervise, and support café staff and trainees, fostering teamwork, professionalism, and Christian service values. Manage café budgets, cash handling, supplier accounts, and financial reporting to ensure transparent and profitable operations. Deliver excellent customer service, promoting the café as a welcoming space that reflects Christian hospitality and supports College events. Champion sustainability by reducing waste and resource use, implementing recycling systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Selection Criteria Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Christian church. Lives in alignment with SCEA’s Statement of Faith, Foundational Beliefs, and Educational Objectives. Builds and maintains positive, healthy relationships with families, SCEA staff, and the College community. Communicates effectively, shows strong interpersonal skills, and manages workloads with organisation and priority. Displays initiative, sound problem‑solving, and the ability to make informed decisions under time pressure. Holds a current Working with Children card and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, meeting all compliance requirements. Desirable (Include where appropriate in your response) Strong leadership and teamwork skills. Excellent organisational and customer service ability. A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards. A proactive, positive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
